I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Kansas with an emphasis in ceramics in 2006. Since moving to Austin in 2008, I have set up a studio and built a wood fire kiln which incorporates the ideas of John Neely and Steve Harrison. I make a variety of functional wares and decorative art on a personal scale. The work is made through a combination of techniques, including throwing, extrusion, hand-building, and press molds. I am focused on the unique surfaces achieved through a sustained, high heat wood firing.
